Artist Biography:
Jon Lee is a printmaker, papermaker and educator and is currently Assistant Professor at Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.  A native of South Korea, he has worked as a professional printer for eight years, both in Korea and in the United States. Upon completing his Master Printer Training at the Tamarind Institute of Lithography, he moved to Iowa to earn his MFA in printmaking at the University of Iowa. Jon has exhibited widely throughout South Korea and in the US.

Artist Statement:
My work is minimal and inspired by unassuming objects. Noticing their
intrinsic beauty is my job as an artist. My relationship with the object is
analogous to that of a human relationship:  Sometimes the relationship is
established over time, and the object gradually becomes a daily partner.
At other times it is love at first sight. Similar to a relationship, the goal is
not so much the final product, rather the process and experience is central
to the work itself.
