Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum

Arts & Eats 2011 incorporates the finest cuisine by the city's top chefs, contemporary art by San Antonio artists, and live entertainment, into one of the year's most anticipated parties-all for a good cause.  Arts & Eats is one of two major fundraisers hosted by Blue Star Contemporary Art Center that benefits its exhibitions, art education, and programs, all of which are free and open to the public.

The event is known for its progressive menu prepared by acclaimed local chefs.  This year's roster of participating chefs includes Chef Bruce Auden of Biga on the Banks and Auden's Kitchen, Chef Jeffery Balfour of Citrus at the Hotel Valencia, Chef Thierry P. Burkle of The Grill at Leon Springs, Chef Tan Nguyen of Central Market, Chef Damien Watel of Bistro Vatel, Chef Quealy Watson of The Monterey, Chef Andrew Weissman of Il Sogno and The Sandbar, and Chef Steven McHugh of Lüke, with dessert from the deliciously sweet and artistic Lily's Cookies.  Blue Star would also like to thank FEAST and Chef Stefan Bowers who will provide tasty eats to those lucky enough to attend this year's pre-party.

Arts & Eats features work from an array of contemporary artists, from the up-and-coming to the internationally-renowned, including Stuart Allen, Kimberly Aubuchon, Andy Benavides, Steven DaLuz, Gillian Lambert, Clare Little, Karen Mahaffy, Tess Martinez, Jesus Moroles, Riley Robinson, Trish Simonite, and Gary Sweeney to name a few. 

Arts & Eats is known for its fabulous Silent Auction, and this year is no exception.  Items up for bid at this year's event include stays at fabulous homes in Tuscany and Berlin, a studio tour and wine-tasting with Alex Rubio, a private behind-the-scenes tour of The Menil Collection, fitness and spa packages, and much more.

This year's Arts & Eats is co-chaired by Jack Crawford, Ruth Chang Nadeau, and John J. Speegle.
