MOSAIC Public Art Projects
Blue Star Contemporary Art Center’s MOSAIC Program is a free after-school program for high school youth with a focus on mosaic tile art. MOSAIC is currently working on the production of a large scale, ceramic tile mural titled, “Virgen De San Juan” to be permanently installed at the San Juan Square Apartment Homes on 1938 Zarzamora St. in the city’s Westside. The “Virgen De San Juan” mosaic will depict the iconic image of Our Lady of San Juan, which was inspired by a mural that once adorned a wall at the San Juan Housing Projects on Zarzamora Street
ARTsmart MOSAIC Students are available for public art projects, murals and commissions. 100% of project fees go back into the ARTsmart MOSAIC program allowing free after-school art education programming. For more information contact rubio@bluestarart.org
